We have seriously been to the doctors office or hospital like every other day lately. Dash went for a follow up appointment concerning his inner ear infection and we found that it has actually gotten worse. So he continues the antibiotics and ear drops for his ear infection.
Medical mystery #1...
While at this follow up appointment I expressed my concern that Dash is waking up at night with night sweats. It gets so bad that sometimes we have to flip his pillow over or change his sheets. The doctor was concerned that Dash may have Tuberculosis, of all things! We went and had a chest ex ray taken yesterday and it has come back clear. Thank Goodness! But we still don't know what is causing him to wake up sweating profusely when he sleeps with just a sheet on him and a fan blowing.
Medical mystery #2...
I noticed Dash had a couple bumps on his arms yesterday and behind his ears. They looked like little bug bits. As the day progressed they seemed to spread and get more inflamed. Dash wasn't scratching them so I wasn't to concerned. Well this is what he looked like when he woke up this morning. Huge whelps and hives covering his body. It is in his hair, ears, and covering his face as well. I took him back to the doctor this morning. They said that it is an allergic reaction to something, but we have no idea were it came from. I have him taking benadryl and oatmeal baths and am saturating him in Caladryl lotion. But I don't know what else to do. My poor boy is falling apart.
