Saying goodbye to my tonsils
I am going into the OSU hospital on Friday and coming out a tonsil-less girl. Lets just say that after 26 years of chronic Strep and Mano I am happy to see these puppies go. I hear that I will not be feeling really great for a couple of weeks after, I guess it is much harder for Adults to heal then kids. Soooo... I will probably be M.I.A. until after Christmas.

WARNING!!! EXTREAMLY PERSONAL!!! VERY LONG POST!!! You may want to skip this one!
Thanks...I think...for the post Chris. You are right I probably would have never posted that before picture of me on our blog. I kind of feel weird talking about my weight loss because I am afraid that people will think that it's annoying. But seeing as how this is my blog I will indulge and talk about me. Bear with me though, because this is kind of personal. For those of you who would rather look at my adorable kids feel free to skip over this posting.
Ever since I hit puberty I have been chubby. Here is a family picture taken just before my oldest sister, Jennifer, left on her mission. I had to be like 10 or 11 in this picture. I hate this picture because when I look at it I feel the insecurity that I felt then.
I made a lot of excuses as to why I was the way I was and why it was so much harder for me then everyone else. I did not like the way I looked but dealt with it (usually with an extra helping of what ever was for dinner) because, frankly that was easier then doing any thing about it. Dieting never worked. It was just a short term fix, but ultimately lead to failure, discouragement, and just fed into my insecurity even more.
Then along came this hunk, who has taught me to challenge the way I think and live my life. He saw through my facade and my excuses and made me want to be better.
I think the best thing is that I feel healthier. My knees don't hurt when I go up the stairs anymore. Last year I was in physical therapy because I couldn't go up the stairs or kneel down on the floor with my kids without excruciating pain. This year I am able to run a 5k with out my knees hurting.
I love all the time I am able to spend with my husband walking, hiking, climbing, and running. I love being able to keep up with him. I love weighing less then him!
I know this posting has gotten really long and much to personal. You all are probably super embarrassed for me. But I feel like the point of the rambling is that this has been a life long battle. There is no secret to my success it was just changing my lifestyle one decision at a time. I am no better, or different then any one else that is struggling with their weight.
If you would like a good read though to get you started in the right direction. There is a book called The Culprit and the Cure by Dr. Adana. That has really helped me. Click here for the link. Or watch the biggest looser. I love that show! I would love to have Jillian as my personal trainer. If there is anyone who would genuinely like some help and support becoming healthier call me! I would be happy to share what I have learned and support you in your journey.
For those of you who have asked or are afraid to ask:
From my heaviest weight to what I weigh now is an 84 pound difference. I now weigh 25 pounds less then I did in the eight grade. Since last year when I decided I wanted to "look fine by 2009" I have lost 50 pounds and about 10 inches from my waist. Last Christmas I was a size 14 and this Christmas I am a size 3.

Looken Fine In 2009
Becca has embarrassed me many times on this blog so I figured it was her turn. Well, that and I love her and know that she won't brag about herself so I'm going to do it for her!
The story goes something like this: soon after Miley was born Becca came up with this saying, "looken fine in 2009". The point of the saying was to remind her of a goal she made to lose her baby cushion by 2009. Most people don't reach thier goals but Becca isn't most people and shes more than met her goal. She has not only lost the weight but she has also dropped seven or so dress sizes. She looks great!
Anyway, I'm keeping this post a bit of a secret and maybe it will be up here long enough for a few people to see it :) Love ya Becca!!!

It is handy having a Super Hero in the house!
I was doing the dishes and spilt a bunch of water on the floor. Dash saw what I did and said "I will save you from the water mommy!" and dashed out of the room. He came back a few seconds later with one single square of toilet paper and started wiping up the water. Obviously not enough to clean up the job, but it is still nice to have someone constantly trying to save my day!
